Paints at the Stoney Women Studio (Sth Melbourne Market) and as the 'resident artist' at Federation Square.

She undertakes:

  • Portrait and other general commissions in all painting mediums
  • Traditional Chinese Brush Calligraphy
  • Figure - Drawing from life model
  • Private mentoring for both young and adult students

2006

  • Painted portraits at Camberwell Rotary Art Show.

2005

  • Exhibition of "The Inside Story" portraits at Federation Square.
  • Painted 87 portraits in 7 days on site at Federation Square.

2004

  • 7 month studio residency sponsored by City of Port Phillip and South Melbourne Market.

2003

  • Painting expedition to Lord Howe Island. Fulfilled commissions for the majority of the year.
  • Painting, 'Melbourne Christmas' reproduced by the Melbourne Anglican newspaper as their December full colour wrap-around front and back cover.
  • Showing of 20 works at the Lord Howe Island Gallery : James Thomas Dorman Historical Gallery, October.
  • Middle Park Gallery 4th Annual Exhibition held at West Melbourne, December : Ten 2x1 metre canvases entitled 'The Wulgulmerang Series'.

2002

  • April, curator and exhibitor of Chinese Calligraphy. An exhibition featuring Professor of Fine Art, Ren Ping from Hangzhou University, China.
  • June~ August invited to New York City , studied works from The Metropolitan Museum, MoMa, The Frick, National Gallery Washington, Boston Gallery of Fine Art, The Guggenheim and various private collections.
  • July, Showing of work, new york angels at Exhibition 777, Sixth Avenue, New York City
  • November, co~exhibitor and curator of new york angels & inland seas: Exhibition 2002, Middle Park Gallery, Melb

MAJOR 2002 WORK

  • Series of 20 paintings entitled 'new york angels' mostly collected privately in the US and Australia

2001

  • Permanent Resident Artist at Middle Park Fine Art Gallery and Studio fulfilling a managerial role as well as portrait and general commissions.

MAJOR 2001 WORKS

  • public commission of four acrylic on canvas [1.5 x 1m) panels for the Essendon Airport Passenger Terminal.
  • Exhibited 27 paintings at Exhibition 2001, Brush 'n' Bristle Studio Gallery. including 'The For Sure Series, 2001' [four panels]
  • Commissioned to paint a street mural extending over eight shop fronts for the Middle Park Street festival, 'The Little Day Out'

2000

  • Exhibited 10 paintings at inaugural exhibition of Brush 'n' Bristle Studio Gallery, Melbourne.
  • toured major art centres of Europe.

1999

  • completed B.A [Asian Studies] majoring in Chinese.

1994

  • studied Chinese Language, calligraphy and traditional brush and ink painting at The Central University of Minority Cultures in Beijing, China.
  • toured major art centres in Shanghai and surrounding regions, Beijing and Taiwan.

1986 & 1987

  • Prizes for excellence in Art

1985 - 1986

  • Studied Chinese calligraphy whilst on student exchange in Malaysia
