Please come to an exhibition of paintings by Elizabeth Stoney that play on the themes of space animals and music. The style of the paintings follow on from the finished canvases shown on this page [although these three pieces are not for sale at the upcoming exhibition - you get the idea!].
"There are a number of influences aside from a love of animals and - for me any excuse to paint an animal is a good excuse - but these paintings are sort of a tribute to a group of people who all participate in an online forum discussing politics, music and the fate of our planet. Although I tend to paint five or six paintings at the same time there is always a space when you have to stop to let things dry. It's during these times that I will open the politics and social issues forums and see what's going on outside the studio....and in the heads of people from all over the world. Some of the issues discussed have crept into this series of paintings in ways I didn't expect."
"Please come to the opening exhibition of this series of weird paintings and tell me what you think? It's on Saturday 19th February 2011 anytime from 5-10pm and this year it's back in our little gallery at 155 Mills Street, Middle Park. It gets a bit squashy but is good fun. If you are able to let us know that you are coming it would be appreciated [call 0425751515] otherwise just come and enjoy the show!"
